BIOGRAPHY

I spent my childhood as a cowgirl on a farm in Colorado where I developed a great respect for the land and nature. I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where I earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Design. After spending many years working in fashion and advertising, I became incredibly disenchanted with the industry.

After many life experiences (too many to mention here!), I turned to education and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Prescott College in Alternative Photographic Media with a minor in Psychology. Shortly thereafter, I realized my life’s calling while attending an Art Therapy workshop at the Chicago Institute of Art. I came to learn that the deep experience of creating art offers many ways to view the world, oneself, and life situations. Creativity activates the wisdom of the unconscious to access profound healing.

Merging my passion for the arts, nature, and holistic wellbeing, I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and Creative Art Therapy, also from Prescott College. Following my licensure in Montana, I became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and my practice became primarily focused on healing trauma. I have now been practicing psychotherapy for 27 years and recently became certified in Brain Spotting (BSP).

In Montana, I facilitated the anger management group “Women Against Violence,” aiding women in the transition between prison and civilian life, as well as court-ordered individuals struggling with violence. I also have experience teaching as an adjunct faculty member for Prescott College in their Fine Arts and Psychology programs.

I expect to practice what I preach; therefore, I am committed to my Transcendental Meditation and yoga practice of 45 years. I have survived cancer and healed my body through diet, exercise, and spiritual practices. I love to cook healthy, organic (mostly vegan) meals. For self-care, I work out and enjoy hiking, being at the ocean, painting, photography, writing songs, playing guitar, reading, and just being silly!

I am licensed in the state of Arizona and Hawai'i, supporting clients online from my home in Tucson, AZ. I look forward to assisting and supporting you on your dynamic healing journey!
